Training for designers by designersSiD recognises that for designers to be able to design out hazards and risks for those affected by their decision making requires technical knowledge supplemented by knowledge of the basic requirements of health and safety law. SiD has worked with the Construction Industry Council (CIC) to develop learning aims and occupational standards for designers. Statement from SiD, CiC and HSE
Training courses can address the learning aims requirements which can be tested. Occupational standards are how the knowledge is applied in practice with work based proof such as NVQ assessment.
